Robin Thicke Offers ''Something Else'' On New Disc

Wednesday, April 16, 2008

R&B singer/songwriter Robin Thicke is gearing up for his third solo release, Something Else, this summer.

Unlike 2006's The Evolution of Robin Thicke, which featured collabo's with Lil' Wayne, Pharrell and Faith Evans, Something Else was entirely written and produced by Thicke.

SOHH recently got a chance to listen to the album, which Thicke calls "wine and bubbly music." The horn laden "Magic" will be the first single off the disc, according to Billboard, with the uptempo "Side Step" possibly being released second. Other tracks on the album include "Harmony," a feel good song about a girl who discovers her inner-beauty; and "Loverman."

Evolution peaked at No. 5 on The Billboard 200 and topped the R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. It has sold 1.5 million copies in the U.S., according to the Nielsen SoundScan.

Something Else hits shelves July 1 via Star Track/Interscope Records.
