Dave Chappelle's Ex-Manager Sues For Non-Payment

Tuesday, April 22, 2008

A former manager of Dave Chappelle is suing the superstar comedian--again. This time, he's asking the comedian to pay up on profits from several deals, including the hit TV show Chapelle famously walked away from.

Mustafa Abuelhija settled his first lawsuit with Chappelle back in '05 after he was fired without warning. The agreement was supposed to give Abuelhija 10% of the profits from Dave Chappelle's Block Party, 10% of the money Chappelle got from seasons 2, 3 and 4 of Chappelle's Show plus 10% of any money he received for the comedy special For What It's Worth according to TMZ.

Abuelhija says he hasn't seen any of the cash. So the former manager recently filed a new suit in New York claiming Chappelle has pulled in another $1.2 million since their settlement almost three years ago and he wants a 10% take.

At press time, Chappelle's lawyer has not returned requests for comment.
