Baby D Busted For Cocaine Trafficking

Friday, April 25, 2008

Atlanta-area rapper Baby D is being held in federal custody after being arrested for allegedly trafficking cocaine.

The rapper was arrested by authorities on March 26 in Dayton, Ohio and is currently being held without bond in the ButlerCounty jail. D, who's recently been enjoying the success of his latest single "I'm Bout Money," has denied all of the allegations against him in connection with the case.

This isn't the Decatur-bred artist's first brushe with the law. He currently has three pending assault charges in Tennessee where he has a bond set, but a warrant for his arrest in Georgia was recently dismissed.

Reps for Baby D say that they are unsure how his current legal situation will effect the release of his upcoming album, A-Town Secret Weapon, slated for an April 29 release on Koch Records.

Baby D recently chopped it up with SOHH to speak about the album.

"This album right here is 'gon do what it's supposed to do," he says. "I'm expecting the unexpected. I'm giving my fans the opportunity to say, 'I told ya'll Baby D was tight.' All my fans have been staying down with me through putting out albums independently."

"This album is all new sounds and a whole new feel," he boasted. "It's probably my best creation ever."

A-Town Secret Weapon features guest appearances from Gucci Mane, Shawty Lo, Pastor Troy, Sean Paul of the YoungBloodz and Lloyd.
