In this week's Pulse Report the streets are buzzing about Lil' Wayne struggling to kick his lean habit before it kills him, 50 Cent putting Young Buck in his place, Game going to war on white rappers and Melyssa Ford doing the nasty with Wilmer Valderrama.
1. Hard To Say Goodbye. Lil' Wayne is one step closer to kicking his now infamous addiction to syrup. In the May 2008 issue of Vibe magazine the New Orleans rapper tells the urban rag he's doing things to wane himself off the addictive concoction.
"I saw a doctor - he gave me pills, told me, 'This is what you take to get off it,'" Wayne said. "I never tried them. If them b***hes work, then I probably gotta start. Other than that, it's gonna be hard. What a n*gga told me to do is start lessening my amount. So what I do, I tell motherf*ckers as to pour it for me instead of me pouring it...I be patient.'"
Ah yes, that is brilliant. That's the old "I'm going to stop smoking weed so I buy nickel bags instead of dime bags" trick. Brilliant! Good luck with that homie.
Weezy also had a message for the haters who question his lifestyle.
"Don't judge me until you meet me," he said. "And you know when you gonna meet me? Never. So don't judge me. Don't worry about my health because what you doing? And when you tell me what you doing, I bet it ain't half as great as what I'm doing. I smoke, drink, and do what, who, and how I want and I'm going to keep doing. And I'ma die the way I want. And that's that."
Take that haters! If Weezy F Baby wants to kiss Baby and go to "fruit fight" parties with Diddy and Fat Joe he can do as he pleases because your life ain't as great as his-suckers!
Finally Weezy still feels like he's not respected enough in the game.
"I still feel like I'm not being respected," Weezy told Vibe. "I still feel like I don't have the crown. I still feel like there's something I have to do that hasn't been done."
Hmmm. Let me think. Maybe you need to drop The Carter III already. And stop making ridiculous videos like this. [Watch here]
2. Big Brother Speaks. The days of G-Unity are long gone, but 50 Cent is doing his part to keep his crew from falling into full blown anarchy. In a recent interview with MTV, Curtis downplayed any rumors of beef with disgruntled crew member Young Buck. After the Cashville rapper made claims that he never got paid royalty checks from G-Unit, 50 quickly disputed the claims.
"Each person in G-Unit has earned over $10 million in their career at this point," said 50. "What they did with their paper, I don't know."
Fif even went on to say Buck's antics were nothing more than a little brother acting up for attention.
"I think you have to give them something to blow it out of proportion," 50 said of the rumors. "Buck did that. I think that what he was saying, in order to validate himself as a man, he feels he has to go against what I'm doing, similar to some of the things we've seen from Game... [But then] he'll back off of it, when we're in direct conversation. When he's out in public, he'll say something. They're like my younger brothers, but they'll do sh*t for attention. They'll do things, then when I look like, 'What are you doing?' They'll be like, 'Oh, nah, because you was doing this. ... Because you didn't call me when you were on the international tour.' I'm like, 'Are you kidding me? You didn't call neither, so what does that mean?' "
Damn. 50 handled this crisis impeccably. He has forced to once again put the G-Unit eulogy on hold. I even had a Fat Joe sponsored P.S.A ready to go with this one. Good job Fif. And Buck you better get in line, little brother. You don't want to end up like your boy Game. Just fall in line like Lloyd Banks and Tony Yayo. Spit your lil' corny raps and shut the fu*k up!
3. Game Vs John Brown. Game and John Brown from "ego trip's The White Rapper Show" (yes that John Brown) are engaged in a rap beef that can only be described as ego driven. During a recent interview with Mass Appeal magazine the Compton rapper gave a not so pleasant review of the popular show and its contestants, in particular Brown. [Watch here]
After hearing Game call him "horrible" Brown a.k.a. "The King of the Burbs" jumped at the opportunity to clash with a real life rapper. The Cali native dropped the diss record "Ain't No Future In Yo Frontin." [Watch here]
SMH. Does this really qualify as rap beef? This is varsity versus JV. Or maybe Game needs this little tussle to get his weight back up. Afterall, 50 did put him on the canvas in their epic clash. But is he really going to go after John Brown? Maybe he should listen to Snoop Dogg and take on Spider Loc in a sanctioned bout in the ring. [Watch here]
Who you got your chips on in a Game vs Spider Loc boxing match?
4. Love Jones. Whether or not his Dip Set crew survives its current crisis; Jim Jones may just be too busy to notice. The Harlem gangster has gone Hollywood on us, starring in the upcoming film Who's Deal. Jones plays the bad boy lover who turns out good girl Elise Neal in relationship gone wrong. [Watch here]
If it were not for that trailer being confusing as all hell I might be able to tell you more about the movie. However, it does look like Jones is about to have some real freaky sex scenes poppin' off in there. (No homo) To be fair I'll tell you more after I've had a few drinks and smoked a pound of that stick-icky. It's the only way I'm able to digest these ghetto D movies. Honestly though, seeing Jones on the silver screen got me to thinking about Cam'ron's acting skills. I thought he was great in Paid In Fill.
Who's a better actor Jimmy or Cam? Better yet who's the best rapper/actor?
5. Melyssa Bares All. Video vixen Melyssa Ford is co-starring along a who's-who list of rappers and actors in the upcoming indie gangster flick Days Of Wrath. Names such as Rick Ross, Slim Thug David Banner, Taye Diggs and Laurence Fishburne make up the diverse ensemble. But it is the star of the movie Wilmer Valderrama who gets to experience the best scene ever. Wilmer got to perform a fully nude sex scene with the voluptuous video vixen. [Watch here]
Give Melyssa credit, she's come a long way in her career. From rap videos to sleeping with Fez-that's how you climb the career ladder. Fez you lucky dog!
